REVIEWS
“Emily Stockdale is stellar – statuesque, beautiful and heart-warming.” - Eagle Times, Vermont “Stockdale’s portrayal is exceptional and vivacious. She left everyone commenting during intermission about her total package of talent. Her nuanced repertoire of comedic and dramatic subtleties and slapsticks is captivating, and ultimately endearing." -The Herald, Vermont "The role has been portrayed by such leading ladies as Shelley Winters, Peggy Cass, Elke Sommer, and Lynn Redgrave, and it would come as no surprise to this reviewer if Northern Stage's actress Emily Stockdale doesn't someday find herself joining that elite company."-The Herald, Vermont "Emily Stockdale as the hilariously obnoxious Lina Lamont dramatically stands apart through the specificity of every sound she makes." -Broadway World, Ft. Lauderdale "On stage alone, she is a joy to behold." -The Observer "Stockdale, bless her, is a stitch, with those kewpie doll looks belying a conniving personality."-Florida Weekly "The beautiful Emily Stockdale perfectly sustains Lina Lamont's infamous voice for over two hours. There are not many places in the Book for an audience to find empathy for the character, but she is such a gifted actress that she finds them on her own." - Broadway from the Balcony |
